The main advantage of industrial main boards is the long term availability. The IMBs offer a wide range of products from nano-ITX to mini-iTX and micro-ATX and ofcourse full size ATX. These boards offer all options on one board as well as industrial standard communication ports like (multiple) RS232 and/or RS422/485.
Since these items are not necessarily fanless, the latest CPUs can be fitted like the new generation Intel chips i3/i5 and i7. High end CPUs are to be combined with a large size DRAM of 8GB or more and large size Flash drives.
