LED Backlight
Over the past few years the variaty of the backlight colors have grown. It used to be mainly a yellowish/green version. Nowadays many white and blue backlights are used in combination with LCD and TFT.
Advantages of LED backlights over CCFL or EL backlights:
- low power
- no need for a high voltage inverter (noise reduction)
- temperature independent
- available as multi color
- rugged
- long life time
